Sheriff Bojang Jnr.
Sheriff Bojang Jnr. is Gambia Press Union’s current president and a fellow of the Berlin Scholarship Program. He has more than ten years of experience in journalism. He has worked for international media outlets including France 24, The Guardian, Aljazeera, Voice of America, Radio France International, and Radio Netherlands.
Since 2008, he has been working as a correspondent for RFI English and for the New African Magazine. In addition to journalism, he works as an international consultant for UN Women in West Africa.
Due to his work, Sheriff was forced to spend 10 years in exile in Dakar, Senegal, following human rights violations under the Gambia’s former president, Yahya Jammeh. For his documentaries Sheriff has received two Search for Common Ground Awards from Radio for Peacebuilding Africa.
